From Krakow to Zanzibar: Etihad expands summer network with 8 seasonal destinations
Direct flights connect travellers to beaches, islands and cities
ABU DHABI – Etihad Airways is opening the summer travel season with an expanded network of eight seasonal destinations across Europe and Africa, giving travellers more direct access to some of the world's most sought-after holiday spots.
The programme combines three brand-new routes with five returning seasonal favourites, strengthening the airline’s leisure offering from Abu Dhabi. From Mediterranean beaches and Greek islands to historic European cities and tropical coastlines, the network is designed to meet growing demand for summer travel.
The routes will be launched progressively throughout June and July, with flights operated by a mix of Airbus A320, Airbus A321LR and Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The first new destination to join the network is Krakow, with services beginning on 11 June. The Polish city will be served three times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays using the Airbus A321LR.
Known for its medieval architecture, vibrant cultural scene and UNESCO-listed Old Town, Krakow adds another key Central European destination to Etihad’s growing route map.
Palma de Mallorca
Flights to Palma de Mallorca commence on 12 June, providing direct access to one of Spain’s most popular summer destinations.
Operating on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays aboard the Airbus A321LR, the route offers travellers convenient connections to the Balearic Islands, renowned for their beaches, marinas and Mediterranean lifestyle.
On 14 June, Etihad launches services to Zanzibar, its newest African leisure destination.
The route will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using the Airbus A320. The Tanzanian archipelago is famous for its white-sand beaches, turquoise waters and historic Stone Town, making it a major attraction for holidaymakers seeking tropical escapes.
Malaga
Etihad resumes seasonal flights to Malaga on 15 June, reconnecting Abu Dhabi with Spain’s Costa del Sol.
The route will operate three times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays using the Boeing 787-9. To accommodate peak summer demand, an additional Friday service will be added between 29 June and 31 August.
Mykonos
Also returning on 15 June is Mykonos, one of Greece’s most visited islands.
The twice-weekly service operates on Mondays and Fridays aboard the Airbus A320, routing through Athens before returning to Abu Dhabi. The island remains a popular choice for travellers drawn to its beaches, nightlife and traditional Cycladic charm.
Santorini
Flights to Santorini resume on 16 June, operating every Tuesday and Saturday.
Served by the Airbus A320, the route also continues via Athens. The volcanic island is internationally recognised for its cliffside villages, whitewashed architecture and panoramic views across the Aegean Sea.
Nice
The French Riviera returns to Etihad’s summer network on 19 June with the resumption of flights to Nice.
The route will operate twice weekly on Fridays and Sundays using the Boeing 787-9. Nice serves as a gateway to some of southern France’s most famous coastal destinations and remains a favourite among summer travellers.
Al Alamein
The final seasonal destination returns on 16 July with the resumption of flights to Al Alamein.
Following its successful launch last summer, the Egyptian coastal city will once again be served twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays using the Airbus A320. Located on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast, Al Alamein has rapidly emerged as a growing leisure destination.
